 This is an introductory handcycle ride for those who have not yet tried ad
 aptive mountain biking. \n\nPlease note that our electric assist handcycle
 s are considered mobility devices on this trail that does not otherwise al
 low motorized vehicles\, and so we need to respect that special allowance\
 , the protected natural setting\, and other trail users in the way that we
  use the handcycles on the trail. \n​\nYou must be able to transfer into a
 nd out of the handcycle seat that is 12 inches above the ground. Bring you
 r trusted transfer help. We have a motorized chair lift and a Hoyer lift t
 o assist with transfer height differences from your wheelchair to the hand
 cycle. Moderate grip and core strength are needed for pedaling and braking
 . \n \nThe E-assist output is adjustable\, and the handcycle can be driven
  using only the thumb throttle lever on the left hand pedal without pedali
 ng. Braking is with finger-grip levers on both hand pedals. Gear shifting 
 is with right hand thumb and finger levers. \n\nIt is highly recommended t
 hat the rider is knowledgeable of bicycle gear shifting.\n\n​We provide re
 quired full-face helmets and elbow pads. \n\nLocation: (State Route 160/Pa
 hrump Valley Highway\, Las Vegas\, NV 89123)\nTravel 15 miles west on Stat
 e Route 160 from its intersection with I-15/Las Vegas Freeway to reach the
  parking area.\n\nThere is a $25 fee which goes into a repair fund. Regist
 ration is required.\n\nBring drinking water. There is no water at the trai
 lhead.\nThe area is pet friendly. Please clean up after your pets.\nPracti
 ce “Leave No Trace”!\n\nPLEASE NOTE: If that it turns out that you cannot 
 attend after you have registered\, please let us know as soon as possible 
 so that our volunteers don't tow the equipment out to the trail and wait f
 or you and so that we can allow someone from our waitlist to use the spot.
 \n\nWe need time to board the adaptive equipment\, ride\, and enjoy nature
  with the small group.   We will return to the parking lot by 3:00 to get 
 you back into your vehicle.
