X-WR-CALDESC:This is a handcycle ride for those who want to get away from t
 he highway at Mount Charleston!\n\nPlease note that our electric assist ha
 ndcycles are considered mobility devices on this trail that does not other
 wise allow motorized vehicles\, and so we need to respect that special all
 owance\, the protected natural setting\, and other trail users in the way 
 that we use the handcycles on the trail. \n​\nYou must be able to transfer
  into and out of the handcycle seat that is 12 inches above the ground. Br
 ing your trusted transfer help. We have a motorized chair lift and a Hoyer
  lift to assist with transfer height differences from your wheelchair to t
 he handcycle. Moderate grip and core strength are needed for pedaling and 
 braking. \n \nThe E-assist output is adjustable\, and the handcycle can be
  driven using only the thumb throttle lever on the left hand pedal without
  pedaling. Braking is with finger-grip levers on both hand pedals. Gear sh
 ifting is with right hand thumb and finger levers. \n\nIt is highly recomm
 ended that the rider is knowledgeable of bicycle gear shifting.\n\n​We pro
 vide required full-face helmets and elbow pads. \n\nLocation: State Route

 \n\nRegistration is required.  No tickets are required for friends or fami

 g water. There is no water at the trailhead.\nThe area is pet friendly. Pl

 lease let us know as soon as possible so that our volunteers don't tow the
  equipment out to the trail and wait for you and so that we can allow some
 one from our waitlist to use the spot.\n\nWe need time to board the adapti
 ve equipment\, ride\, and enjoy nature with the small group.   We will ret
 urn to the parking lot by 3:00 to get you back into your vehicle.
